Somebody tell me what critter made this little mud entrance to his house...my guesses are, vole, mole or wasp. I seriously want to know because if it's a wasp's nest, I won't be walking that way anymore.

I think it looks like some sort of alien implantation entryway. Remember "War of the Worlds"? How they lay dormant under ground until.....??

And not that I simply have to make a point, but do you really think that the closest water is more than 18" away from that spot? I mean, in the coastal plains of LA? Notice that the thing is formed of mud? |  |

I don't know that is alot harder to figure out than the beaver dam just out my front door.
I mean besides the dam and the lodge, on occasion you see a beaver.
but as to what that is, I don't know but I to would kick it.
